Did you know that you can apply for a marriage license in any SC county?

You may ask yourself why would this be important? Well each county can charge whatever application fee they decide upon, for example: Lexington county in central South Carolina charges $30 and walk-In services, while Richland county also in Central South Carolina charges $45 and offers no walk-in service and only online application.  So if your budget is a major factor or you're simply short on funds then it's important to know!

Did you know You do not need a Notarization on a Marriage license in South Carolina??

In fact a notary space isn't provided on ANY South Carolina marriage license. Notaries often will charge more for a service that they by law aren't required to notarize, this is how they make extra money on wedding ceremonies. Some Notaries do weddings exclusively because they are allowed to. Don't be deceived! You can often save Money with a clergy member and they sometimes are more experienced.
